It’s always such a pleasure to team up with Amy from Raising Arrows. Amy has written a lovely devotional for young children based upon the Fruit of the Spirit. Using Galatians 5:22-23, Amy developed a simple, easy-to-understand 9-day devotional for the little people in your life.
To be used in conjunction with this devotional, Amy developed a few printables to help supplement the learning of the Fruit. I simply put it all on paper.
- Fruit Coloring Sheets – Color and cut out the fruit which corresponds to the current day’s Fruit
- Fruit Basket – Color and cut out (or print a colored version) of a Fruit Basket to place each day’s Fruit
- Fruit Chart – Use this colorful daily checklist to keep a record of the times you “catch” your child displaying a Fruit of the Spirit
Fruit of the Spirit Coloring Sheets
Print out one page for each child participating in the devotional. After coloring the fruit, have the child cut out the picture to the best of his ability. Then have your child glue the fruit inside the Fruit Basket.
Fruit of the Spirit Fruit Basket
There are two fruit baskets available for download. One basket is pink and the other is an illustration that can be colored by your child. After printing the basket that you prefer, have your child cut it out, being careful not to cut off the tabs on the edges.
After cutting out the basket, fold the tabs back to create a pop-up type basket in which you can insert (glue) the fruit each day. Simply fold back the tabs and tape only the tabs to another sheet of paper. Using a larger piece of construction paper makes a nice display!
The tabs are a difficult to fold back since the bowl is rounded. This step might be best for mom to complete.
After you’ve taped down the tabs, your basket is ready to hold the Fruit!
Fruit of the Spirit Daily Checklist
I love this Fruit Checklist! Children are very visual and this is an excellent way to show them their progress.
There are a couple of ways you can use this chart:
- Stickers
When you observe your child exhibiting a Fruit of the Spirit, place a sticker in the correct square. If you’d like, set a goal with your child: ‘Yesterday you displayed 4 types of Fruit. Today let’s aim for 5!’ - Tally Marks
When you observe your child displaying a Fruit, make a tally mark in the correct square. Add up each square at the end of the day or add up total tally marks for the day or week.
The checklist is designed for only one child, so print as many checklists as you need based on your family size. Remember that mom can keep a checklist too!
All of the printables you need to supplement the Fruit of the Spirit Devotional are contained in this one-time .pdf download.
Enjoy learning about the Fruit of the Spirit with your Little Ones! Amy and I pray that this will be a wonderful resource for you and your family.
Remember to stop by Amy’s and print your Fruit of the Spirit Devotional if you haven’t already done so!
