Independence Day Vocabulary Words for Elementary Students
This printable Independence Day word list includes a mix of history words and celebration words. Some of the words connect directly to American history, such as Declaration of Independence, liberty, thirteen colonies, and Revolutionary War.
Other words are familiar July 4th words that children often hear around the holiday, such as fireworks, parade, flag, picnic, and red, white, and blue.
I like this combination because it gives children a helpful vocabulary foundation without making the page feel too heavy or formal. Younger children can recognize many of the familiar holiday words, while older elementary students can use the historical words for short writing assignments or notebooking pages.
