My poor children. My 10th and 12th graders have already read and analyzed Beowulf (referenced in the article) and my 10th grader is currently in a class that only studies Greek Plays.

Will they ever recover? /sarc

"British universities have long been ridiculed for policies controlling speech or symbols.

Now, The Telegraph is reporting that British universities are adding trigger warnings to Greek and Shakespearean tragedies to protect students from being triggered by tragedy.

Indeed, there are now warnings on other classics for everything from “ableism” to “depictions of rural life.”"

Yes. An excellent reminder from @SallieBorrink on Gab.
My husband and I had a conversation about potential roofers the other night. There were devices in the room, but none of them were on, and neither one of us had researched roofers online at the time.

The next day, I have ads for the specific company we talked about on my laptop - which was on a different floor of the house during the conversation.

Two days later, we received a coupon in the U.S. Mail from the same roofing company.

Lesson Learned: Don't discuss anything important in a room (or maybe even a house) with any devices, even if they aren't actively being used.
This is beautiful. Please pray for these people. ❤️

Media is too big
We took all our social media revenue and gave it to the people most affected by the toxic explosion in East Palestine.

These reactions say it all.

We don’t need to wait for the government to help out our fellow Americans in need.

2 Corinthians 2:8-10

For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death.

But that was to make us rely not on ourselves, but on God, who raises the dead. He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again.
We serve a Sovereign God that still delivers from deadly peril. I am living proof. Amen.

My sin, oh the bliss of this glorious thought:
My sin, not in part, but the whole.
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

Yes, amen. ❤️
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
John 8:36 ESV
We are in a spiritual war.

We are also in a culture war.

They are related.

Secular conservatives don't see the spiritual war.

Many Christians deny the culture war.

Ignore the spiritual war and endanger your soul.

Deny the culture war and endanger your freedom.
The kids and I are listening to a different Resurrection hymn each day this week. The back of my very old hymnal calls them 'Christ - Resurrection' hymns. Regardless of what the hymnal calls them, they are the ones that I grew up singing and playing on the piano.

Today's was "The Old Rugged Cross." This version by Alan Jackson is right on.
"Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Phil. 2:9-11
Today, our #homeschool finished up 12th grade, 10th grade, 8th grade, 6th grade, and Kindergarten. WHEW!
The Lord is gracious. Amen. #classicaleducation
