Color by code pages are a nice break from traditional worksheets! In this Color By Code worksheet packet, your children will work on reading words that have the same beginning sound.
This A to Z 26-page packet of color by code worksheets focuses on beginning sounds. Each page features one letter of the alphabet, and your child searches for the words in the picture and colors according to the code.
Pages usually have 8 words, although a few have up to 10 words. Most of the words in the code are CVC or CVCC words, and almost all practice the short vowel sound.
For example, the words that children practice on the Letter S page are: sand, soft, set, sick, Sam, sell, sun, sack
Only the Letter X worksheet focuses on the ending sound of x, since the few English words that start with x are difficult phonetically.
