Coloring pages never get old around here at the Hill House, especially when they help us focus on what Easter is truly about. These He is risen coloring pages are a simple, print-and-go Christian Easter booklet that walks children through the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Perfect for Sunday school, family Bible time, or a quiet Holy Week activity, this set gives kids something purposeful to do while you talk through the Easter story together.
This week as we talk about the death and resurrection of Jesus, my girls will work through this set of Christian Easter Coloring Pages. He is risen, indeed!
My 4 year old saw them and said, “Oooh! Are these for me??” I love being able to say, “Yes! I made them just for you!” It makes her feel so special.

Just a note: In our house, the death and resurrection of Christ is known as just that. However, to make it easier for other families and churches to find these coloring pages, I call them ‘Christian Easter Coloring Pages’. I know that many families have their own opinions on the title ‘Easter.’
He Is Risen Coloring Pages (Christian Easter Printable Booklet)
This set of He is Risen Coloring pages staple into a fun mini-booklet that my children have all loved. The smaller style is so fun! The prep for mom is still simple though – just cut the pages in half along the dotted line and staple down the side. Easy!

What’s Included in This He is Risen Coloring Booklet
This set includes 16 half-pages of Christian Easter pictures and a space for handwriting practice.
The following Christian Easter pictures are included:
- He is Risen cover page
- palm leaves
- donkey
- apostle
- Last Supper
- bread
- cup
- pieces of silver
- soldier
- cross
- crown of thorns
- nails
- stone
- empty tomb
- angel
- He has risen! with Mark 16:6 – reading page
This half-page style is the favorite of my girls, and they seem to be ‘just right’ for younger hands.
After you print, your child can arrange the pages to the coloring booklet in any order, however, I do recommend using the ‘He has risen’ with Bible verse on the last page.
Make sure you take the time to explain what each of these objects have to do with the death and resurrection of Jesus. The sacrifice of our Savior can never be over-explained or talked about too much!

Christian Easter Symbols Included and What They Teach
Each page in this booklet highlights an important moment or symbol from the Easter story of the Holy Bible. As your children color, you have a natural opportunity to talk about what each picture represents and why it matters.
Here’s a quick guide to help you explain each one:
- Palm branches – The crowds welcomed Jesus into Jerusalem, shouting “Hosanna!”
- Donkey – Jesus rode humbly into the city, fulfilling prophecy (see Zechariah 9:9)
- Apostle (disciple) – Jesus shared His final days with His closest followers
- The Last Supper – Jesus’ final meal with His disciples
- Bread – Represents Jesus’ body
- Cup – Represents His blood and the new covenant
- Pieces of silver – Judas’ betrayal
- Soldier – The arrest and trial of Jesus
- Cross – Jesus died on the cross for our sins
- Crown of thorns – They mocked him by crowning Him “King of the Jews”
- Nails – A reminder of the crucifixion
- Stone – The stone rolled in front of the tomb
- Empty tomb – Jesus is no longer there!
- Angel – The messenger announcing the good news
- “He Is Risen!” page (Mark 16:6) – The joyful truth of the resurrection
- Cover page – A simple cover to tie the whole story together
I like to spread these pages out in order and walk through the story step-by-step. It turns a simple coloring activity into a Bible lesson your children will remember.
