Rhyming Mats with CVC Words
When teaching phonics and reading, we need to be prepared with an arsenal of different activities. Make sure you add this set of Rhyming Mats with CVC Words to your stack of phonics activities!
This set of Rhyming Mats features CVC words where children can practice listening for the correct rhyming match.
I have included 15 mats total – 3 mats for each short vowel sound. Each mat has an accompanying 3 pictures that rhyme with the mat’s focus rhyme.
I print the mats and matching pictures on cardstock so they will last through multiple uses. However, you can certainly print on plain printer paper and use this as a cut & paste activity.

Short A:
tap: nap, cap, map
rag: tag, wag, bag
sat: cat, hat, bat
Short E:
