This 33-page set of apple worksheets for kindergarten and first grade provide practice with phonics, sight words, handwriting, beginning writing, addition, subtraction, and more. Apples were always one of my favorite early-elementary themes because they gave us a natural way to combine reading, writing, and math practice throughout the week. I created this packet so you can choose the pages that fit your learner instead of having to use the entire set at once.

It is apple picking season and we couldn’t be more excited!

If you’re a long-time reader here at Mama’s Learning Corner, you know that there are several things we study and read about it each year when my children are in elementary school: bees, seasons, holidays, birds, and apples!

How to Use These Apple Worksheets

There are a variety of ways to use this packet, however, this is the way we used it in our homeschool.

I go ahead and print all 33 pages of the packet at once. Even though I’m not going to use them immediately, I print everything I can in advance so I don’t have to get my laptop out during the day. Anytime I take the time to print something, our day is hugely disrupted and it’s hard to get my children back on track.

Then I choose which worksheets we will use first. For my Kindergarten learner, I would begin with missing letters, tracing, missing numbers, color by numbers, or the sight words worksheets.

For my first grade learner, I would work on syllables, alphabetical order, sentence building, addition and subtraction, and the more detailed word-work page.

You can also use the packet throughout an apple-themed week. Plan to use the five-senses page with an apple taste test, use the writing pages after reading an apple picture book, and save the puzzles or coloring activities for quiet work.
