Here are several very practical ideas to use this fun zoo phonics worksheet with your young ones:

• Practice the beginning sound aloud.
  Say the animal name slowly and make sure you stretch out the first sound as you model it.
• Use mini animal figures or cards alongside the worksheet.
  If you have a set of Zoo Toob Animals (love those!), or any type of zoo animal cards, use those alongside this worksheet. Complete the worksheet, and then sort through the animals with your child and find any that match the pictures on the worksheet.
  The “babies” version of the Zoo Toob Animals are exceptionally cute!
• Do the first row together.
  With worksheets, I have found that it is often best to do the first several with my children to ensure they understand the directions.
