Ways to Use These David and Goliath Coloring Pages
You can use these David and Goliath coloring pages in several simple ways depending on the ages and stages of your children.
Homeschool Bible time: Read the story from 1 Samuel 17, then choose one coloring page to complete. You can choose to read the story each morning for a week and do 1-2 pages each day. It’s fun to make these pages into a coloring book – just staple down the side! My children always loved this.
Sunday School: Use one page as a lesson follow-up activity after teaching the account of David and Goliath.
Christian school: Add the pages to a Bible notebook or send one home as a review page.
Preschool or kindergarten: Let younger children color while you read the Bible story aloud.
Early elementary handwriting practice: Use the word at the bottom of each page for simple Bible copywork.
How We Use these Coloring Pages in Our Homeschool
I will use these coloring pages with my current 5 year old who is doing Preschool work. I will spend a few days with me telling him the Bible account and we will read aloud from our children’s Bible. Then I would spend a couple of days with him telling me the Bible story.
Being able to narrate a story is a very helpful pre-writing skill!
David and Goliath Bible Lesson Ideas for Young Children
For younger children, keep the David and Goliath lesson simple. Read a short portion from 1 Samuel 17, talk about how David trusted the Lord, and then let your child complete one coloring page. Older children can narrate the story back to you or copy one of the Bible verses into a notebook.
If you are teaching several ages together, these coloring pages can give your younger children a hands-on activity while older students read or discuss the Bible passage in more detail.
My girls loved to color on into middle school, so don’t be afraid to print a coloring page for every age if you’re studying David and Goliath one-room schoolhouse style!

Hey Gabrielle! Sadly, yes the newest packet does not have a page for King David. I found some better clip art that tells the story of David and Goliath so I eliminated that page.

It’s on my to do list to create a coloring book with Bible verses just highlighting David’s life. I’m still on the search for good clip art to create that, however. Hopefully soon!
