If you’re working on teaching your child the days of the week, having a few simple and repeatable days of the week activities makes all the difference. Whether you’re practicing during calendar time, morning work, or just adding a little extra review, these activities help your child learn the order of the days, recognize abbreviations, and build confidence with spelling—without adding extra prep to your day.
During our calendar time in the mornings, my girls and I review the Days of the Week often. We sing the Days of the Week song, practice yesterday and tomorrow in their calendar notebooks, and I talk about the abbreviations with my First Grader.
Since my First Grader is so eager to “use her pencil” and do cut & paste activities, I wanted to make her a few Days of the Week printables. She’s going to love them!
This Days of the Week Printables Activities packet is a great fit for Kindergarten through 3rd Graders, and any other kids that need help with putting names of the Days of the Week in order.
This post and the Days of the Week worksheet packet was originally published in 2015. It was time for an overhaul! Please download the newest version and enjoy again!

Days of the Week Activities for Kids
These Days of the Week activities work on building mastery for your children. Instead of exposing them to a topic (the Revolutionary War, for example), the goal is for them to master the topic.
I want my girls to know the Days of the Week in order, the abbreviations for the days, and I want my older girl to know how to spell them. Adjust those goals for the ages and stages of your own children

Simple Ways to Practice the Days of the Week
Here are a few ways that we practice the Days of the Week in our homeschool:
- Sing the Days of the Week song each morning
- Practice “yesterday, today, tomorrow” during calendar time
- Use a weekly calendar notebook page
- Ask simple questions as you go about your day (“What day is tomorrow?”)
- Write the day of the week at the top of schoolwork or your whiteboard
These small, consistent activities help your child remember the days of the week.
Because my First Grader needs a bit more time in learning to read, I imagine she won’t learn to spell the days of the week well until at least 2nd grade.
I will just pull these worksheets out again to work on next year if and when I find she needs the practice.

I love your printables! Our school uses the D’Nealian format for handwriting. Would you consider using the D’Nealian font with your printables?
Hi Teresa! Honestly, that would be an enormously time-consuming task! I’ll definitely take note, however, and see if I can incorporate D’Nealian into future printables. 🙂
Hello, I am living in china, and I teach two little girls english and would like to use these pages for them would this be ok or is this considered a classroom deal?
