These Pumpkin Cutting Worksheets are a fun way for preschool and kindergarten children to practice scissor skills this fall! Each page features simple pumpkin-themed cutting activities that build fine motor strength and hand-eye coordination. Whether you’re adding them to a pumpkin unit study or just looking for seasonal worksheets, these printables are perfect for your homeschool or classroom.
It is Pumpkin Season! And that means my children and I will study pumpkins for the next several weeks and I can’t wait!
And because my children and I love to study pumpkins, I made a set of pumpkin cutting worksheets for my littlest learner to practice her scissor skills.
Since she’s almost 5, these are fairly easy for her, but she loves to do any cutting related activities!
Note: As most of you know, I am in the middle of slowly updating all of my older worksheets and printables here at Mama’s. This set was originally published in 2015, and has been updated with fresh fonts and new pages. Please re-download the newest version and enjoy again!

Pumpkin Cutting Worksheets for Kids
Each of the cutting worksheets in this printable packet have a fun pumpkin theme. They would make the perfect addition to your pumpkin unit study!
Your child will need the following for this activity:
– This download printed
– A pair of child’s scissors
– A pencil – if you would rather your child trace instead of drawing
Have your child use her scissors to help the farmer “plant” the pumpkin seeds in the patch or “use” her fork to help eat the slice of pumpkin pie.
Simple, thick, broken lines make it easy for young learners to determine where to cut on the page.
Creative Ways to Use These Pumpkin Cutting Worksheets
These worksheets are more than just scissor practice! Try a few of these ideas to make them even more fun. In my 16 years of homeschooling, I have found that the “extras” are the parts that tend to be hard for me, but build the most memories for my children.
So choose one or two of these and build some memories!
- Storytelling – After cutting out the pictures, have your child tell a short story about the pumpkin patch or pumpkin pie scene.
Who is at the pumpkin patch? Did they pick large or small pumpkins? Did the bring a wagon?
Tell me about the pumpkin pie. What did it smell like? What color is it? Is there whipped cream on top? Do you like the taste of pumpkin pie? - Sorting & Sequencing – Mix the cut pieces and let your child put them in order, practicing sequencing and critical thinking.
- Math Connections – Count the seeds, pumpkins, or pieces of pie as you cut them out. If your child is old enough, teach them how to make tally marks as you count.
- Craft Extension – Glue finished cutouts onto construction paper to create a pumpkin collage or mini-book.
These little add-ons are so fun!

Hi Rosa! My kiddos just use a glue stick to glue the puzzles back together.
They love these little paper puzzles! In fact, I have several that I need to upload, so stay tuned for a few more in the coming weeks and months. 🙂
Warmly, Lauren
