It is no secret that my kiddos are huge fans of Match Games. We mix up the way that we use them, so the variety – and the fun pictures – leave them begging for more play time.
The newest set of Match Games is from Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar. What an absolutely fun book! After reading it a million times, I found some graphics that would make the perfect game for my girls.

How to Play The Very Hungry Caterpillar Match Game
For younger children, set out only 4-5 pairs of cards face up. If your child has too many choices, he may become overwhelmed. Encourage him to find the cards that have the same picture. Once a match is made, read the word that names the picture at the bottom of the card, emphasizing the beginning and ending sounds.
Once your child has successfully matched those initial pairs, try playing the game with the cards turned over to practice memory skills. When your child masters those chosen 4 or 5 matches, set them aside and choose another set of cards to play.
For older preschool children or Early Kindergartners, play The Very Hungry Caterpillar Match Game as you would a regular memory-style game with the cards face down. Play with just 4-5 matches face down, or use the entire stack of cards face down, depending on your child’s ability.
For best results, print this game on cardstock and laminate for longer durability.

I am on Pinterest, and I can’t seem to download the printables for Hungry Caterpillar Match Game. I run a book store, and were having a big activity for the kids this Friday. I think your matching game would be perfect. Could you please email these sheets so that I could print them? I would be extremely grateful! Thanks!
