Our family is so proud and blessed to live in the United States of America. We do not take our freedoms for granted – to homeschool our children, to read the Bible without fear of persecution, to elect our representatives, to speak freely.
We are grateful for our constitutional republic!
In order for my children to understand and appreciate these freedoms, I must teach them about America. So I do!
And honestly, it’s one of my favorite subjects. I am very slowly but surely becoming a ‘learned woman’ (ha), and becoming a student of United States history has been a delight. Our history is quite messy at times, but it is worthy of understanding.
In the coming months, I’m going to share small (and larger) ways that I incorporate a love for country in our Patriotic Homeschool.
Today, we’re starting with U.S. Symbols Posters! I love these!

U.S. Symbols Posters with Facts
Most weeks, I have something “extra” for us to do after our Bible time in the morning. This used to be more formal in the days when all of my children were young and we were more One Room Schoolhouse-style. Since I have such a large age range now – 10th grade down to 4 years old – the types of extras that we work on has changed through the years.
While my big kids certainly know all of the U.S. Symbols featured on these printable posters, my little girls could use a bit more exposure. And that’s exactly what these types of posters do – expose my children to the history, background, and symbols of All Things America.
NOTE: These printable posters print in a crisp quality as long as you don’t use the Draft mode as I did. 😉 These are high quality images that I paid for, so they will print crisply and without streaks on the correct setting.
There are a multitude of ways to use these posters. You could display them around your school room all at one time. You could also place them in a Calendar Notebook and discuss one each week. You could also use them in conjunction with the U.S. Symbols copywork packet.

I display one on our white board each week, and we give it a quick mention each day. It stays up all week for my kiddos to look at multiple times. Even though these are for exposure only, I do make sure that my children know the facts that are included on each poster.
This U.S. Symbols packet contains 9 posters with facts about each topic. Included in this packet:
- American Flag
- Great Seal (front side only)
- American Bald Eagle
- The Liberty Bell
- The White House
- Mount Rushmore
- The Lincoln Memorial
- The Statue of Liberty
- The Washington Monument
All Access Pass members can download this entire packet in the All Access Pass area.
