John Chapman, more commonly known as Johnny Appleseed, was a unique man in many ways. His greatest desire was to spread the beauty and love of the apple throughout our great country. Some considered him crazy because of his methods, while others considered him heroic.
Johnny Appleseed was really an interesting soul.
He was an excellent story-teller, a man who could make do with very little, and always wore a Bible buttoned beneath his coat. He knew what it was like to be poor and freely gave of his possessions so others could be more comfortable.
He even wore a stew pot on his head for a hat! A little quirky to say the least!
He was a strange fellow, indeed, but oh so interesting! His life story is one you can’t put down.
John Chapman’s birthday was September 26, 1774.
If you’re doing a small unit study on Johnny Appleseed this month, I made some printables that will be the perfect addition!
