Winter Word Family Worksheets – Dot Marker “Dab It” Activity
These winter word family worksheets work great as dot marker or bingo dauber phonics practice for Kindergarten and first grade.
Early readers need a wide variety of phonics activities to improve fluency and aid in spelling. This set of winter worksheets is a fun way to practice word families.
Word families are groups of words that have the same sound and a similar spelling pattern. For example, words in the -an family are ban, can, Dan, fan, etc.
It is helpful for young readers to study words in context and also in groups of word families to help them recognize patterns and increase reading fluency.
In this activity, readers find all of the words on the Winter Cupcake strip that match the same pattern. 66 different word families are included in this printable activity. There are two Word Family strips per page. Simply cut the pages apart if desired.
Use a bingo dauber or another manipulative for your early reader to mark the answers for all of the words in the same family.
