Summer Coloring Pages: At the Beach!
This set of summer coloring pages features words and pictures that will be familiar to those beach activities we all know and love!
After your child colors the picture, he can choose to trace the word on each page. For most words, there is enough writing line to try writing the word again without the tracing helps.
If you have beginning readers, you can even offer a bit of phonics practice with some of the easier words.
For example, for the phrase ‘beach bag,’ you can review the vowel team ea that is found in the word beach. Or point out the /ch/ sound.
If you have very early readers, have your child point to the beginning letter of each word and say the sound aloud.
There are often opportunities to practice phonics in a multitude of ways. Keep your eyes peeled for them!
